About

Most of my life I have been working with wood in one form or another, starting with building construction classes at a high school trade center. My first real job was as a laborer for a small remodeling company. After about five years learning in the field of construction I helped my brother start up his family sawmill business in Molalla, Oregon (which he still operates today, with his wife and two sons). We were one of the first small sawmills in the NW to become FSC Certified and also one of the first to repurpose materials from old barns and other old building, that would have otherwise been burned or discarded.

Later with my help, my Sister and her husband decided to open a picture frame shop in downtown Portland. Working with my brother is where I discovered my love for the gifts that nature has to give, while working with my sister I, learned finesse and delicacy. After many years working with my family I decided to head out on my own and moved to Central Oregon. Here I took on a job as a cabinet makers apprentice, where I learned the fine skills needed to become a journeyman cabinet maker.

After years of learning the building and installation skills needed for the custom cabinet industry, I had the opportunity to learn the design and engineering needed to work on many of the local construction projects. I took classes for and volunteered with the local fire departments for a short while and now own and operate a cabinet design and small woodworking shop in Redmond Oregon, with help from my wife Tara, son David and daughter Macey of course.
